WHAT WE'RE DOING
The Kinkade Family Foundation is passionate about reaching people through art. Thom grew up in a home where his father left the family when he was 5 years old, and his mother struggled to put food on the table. Art was an outlet which gave him meaning as a child. As a foundation, we partner with nonprofits both locally and globally that are advocates for providing art for children. With those nonprofits, we host art camps to spread joy through art. In addition, we curate collections of Thomas Kinkade’s art for the purpose of sharing more about who he was as an artist and man.
Arts education makes a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of every child and has been proven to help level the "learning field" across socio-economic boundaries. The arts allow children to express themselves creatively, provide a deeper understanding of human behavior, and encourage increased self awareness. Help us take art to the kids who need it most!
Art exhibits play a powerful role in our society. It is where ideas get exchanged, community is fostered, new connections are made, and minds are challenged. We hope to bring new perspective to the artwork of Thomas Kinkade so that people can continue to learn more about who he was as an artist and to reveal his creative process.
