ABOUT THE KINKADE FAMILY FOUNDATION
The Kinkade Family Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to sharing Thomas Kinkade's art, supporting the arts and creative process, and pursuing humanitarian works in the global community.
Thomas Kinkade's wife, Nanette, and their four daughters, Merritt, Chandler, Winsor and Everett, founded The Kinkade Family Foundation shortly after the artist’s passing in 2012 to support the creative arts and advance Kinkade’s humanitarian efforts. Each of the Kinkade daughters were pursuing their own careers, however, after the death of their father each of them made drastic changes to dedicate themselves to continuing their father’s legacy.
Through The Kinkade Family Foundation, the five Kinkade women honor the memory of this awe-inspiring man in the ways he would most appreciate: by touching lives with his art, helping those in need, and supporting creativity for all.
ABOUT OUR LOGO
The Kinkade family chose the three birds as the logo for The Kinkade Family Foundation as an homage to Kinkade's own personal trademark. In nearly every Kinkade painting, the artist included three birds soaring gracefully in the sky. The birds honor his faith, representing God's triune spirit hovering in love above His people. To his family, the three birds symbolize the past, present and future of life's journey and underscore their commitment to honoring Kinkade's past, improving our present, and creating a better future.
When Kinkade passed, the family designed a memorial for his resting spot. The granite stone is embellished with only the three birds. The birds soar freely heavenward.
